Feb 14, 2003 - In order to wrap up my backround investigation for the NYPD I need the member 4 copy of my DD214 from the Navy. It seems I have member 8.
Because I'm having the worst go of it.

Long story short, I still have my Member 2 but not my Member 4. Since the 4 has the nature of separation on it that's the one everyone wants for applying for benefits and the like. I was told to send a request in to the NPRC, did so, and was told what I wanted didn't exist there and directed to submit it to Army Human Resources Command. I sent in my request and a copy of my Member 2, they sent me back my initial enlistment paperwork and said thats all they had, hope it's enough, try VA eBenefits. After a week of trying to get that to work, I finally managed to get in and submit a request through DPRIS, who promptly told me that my records are not kept there and I need to contact NPRC.
Just running a big circle here. It's not like I'm a 'Nam vet here, I got out just seven years back, it shouldn't be that hard.
